This letter was returned to sender, Henry, address unknown. I cannot make out the original date, it may have been Aug 31, 1940. The postmark in Evansville is 9-20-1940. Probably someone told him the addressee was interested in Trotsky. Interesting that it is typed. None of his other letters are typed. Henry was never in his 5 weeks with Trotsky acting as a secretary, though he had been a school teacher and had some college, but here after the death he is in the office using the typewriter. I found it stuck in another letter he received from his sister Marie, I opened it for the first time since Henry had sealed it in 1940.
